About Lake

I think it was learning Reiki in 1999 that first turned my attention to wanting to help people, decided on a life change and completed a BTEC Diploma in Sports & Remedial Massage therapy.   In 2003 I became an Osteopath and  in 2007 I started the Felixstowe Clinic of Osteopathy.  Then in 2018 wishing for an adventure, I passed my Felixstowe business to a friend and headed west to Llangollen, in North Wales.  Retiring from Osteopathy in July 2021, due to a combination of the pandemic and the need to be kinder to my own body.

My personal journey lead to Buddhism as a great philosophy for life, and ultimately to interest in awakening, spirituality, mindfulness and unconditional love. I have been guiding people in these things since 2014.

Through the process of spiritual guiding, witnessing cycles of tension and postural patterns in thousands of Osteopathic patients over the years, and seeing stress and illness in the world at large –  I have begun to really taken on-board the term “dis-ease”, which A.T.Still, the founder of Osteopathy coined in the 19th century.  It is therefore my passion to have a truly holistic approach, to help people out of dis-ease.

I have always loved Craniosacral therapy and have recently undertaken a 2 year Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy course, in order to refresh and hone my cranial skills.  Additionally, I have also just qualified in Root Cause Therapy, to unlock the subconscious mind where limiting beliefs and experiences, including past pain, are causing difficulties in the present such as anxiety.

I enjoy treating all ages of people, but particularly those who don’t feel they are being heard and helped elsewhere, due to a lack of a holistic approach – which it is my aim to provide.  Within this, I like to help people to be less stressed and/or anxious, helping them to see the way to move on with their lives and not be brought down by dis-ease.

I also enjoy working with the active retired; who have aches and pains and believe it’s their age and they “have to live with it” – when maybe they don’t.

In my ‘semi-retirement’, I am now qualified as a:

Craniosacral Therapist
Root Cause Therapist
Musculoskeletal Therapist
Sports & Remedial Massage Therapist
Natural Mindfulness Guide
Reconnection Therapist
Reiki Master Teacher
